St.Petersburg is my native city. It was founded by Peter I on May 27th, 1703. St.Petersburg is situated on the coast of the Finland Gulf of the Baltic Sea, on the islands in the estuary of the Neva. There are exciting "white nigts" in St.Petersburg. They start on May 25-26th and end on the July 16-17th. The industry in St.Petersburg is highly developed: there are many factoriesa and plants here.In St.Petersburg five kinds of transport are used: buses, trolleybuses, tramways, taxes and underground. Also twelve railways pass through St.Petersburg. The mainest is Moscow Railway.St.Petersbourg is the culture centre of our country: there are many museums, theatres and parks in my city. The biggest museum is the Hermitage. It is situated between Palace Square and the Neva river. It consists of four parts: Old Hermitage, Small Hermitage, New Hermitage and Winter Palace. There are more than 2.700.000 exhibits in Hermitage museum. If somebody wants to spend only a minute at each exhibit it will take him twelve years to see them all. The Hermitage museum was founded in 1764 when Catherine the Great bought the first collection of paintings. More than 4.000.000 people live in St,Petersburg, but the its population becomes smaller every year. People of many nationalities live in St.Petersburg but at all they are russian. The main St.Petersburg's problem is spoiling the nature around and in the city because there is a hudge number of the factories and cars which spoil air, lakes and rivers. So, now many scientists are working at this problem.
